Karen Adkins, MS, CCC-SLPCertified Speech-Language PathologistClinic DirectorMy family and I moved to Fort Collins in 2020 and we are so happy to be here. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Development from UC Davis, a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Washington, and a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of the Pacific. I have enjoyed working in private practices in both CA and AZ where I had the opportunity to work and learn alongside therapists in other disciplines. I have experience working with children and young adults in the areas of feeding development, articulation, expressive/receptive language development, pragmatic language, phonological processing, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), cleft palate, and fluency. I have a particular passion for family-oriented early childhood intervention and working with the PODD communication system. I am trained in The SOS Approach to Feeding and PROMPT. In my free time you will find me hiking, playing with my daughter, or enjoying a good book with a hot cup of tea!
Amanda Keare MA, CCC-SLPCertified Speech-Language PathologistHi! I’m a mom to two human and two dog kiddos. I have an undergraduate degree in Linguistics, and I got my Master’s degree as a Speech Language Pathologist from San Diego State University. I have a passion for language and communication, which means that I love what I do! My husband is Deaf, so I am fluent in American Sign Language. Specialty areas include cognition, phonology, accent modification, voice/vocal fold disorders, AAC/SGD devices, and a broad spectrum of social communication concerns. I love working with clients of all types and ages. Figuring out how to connect with you and support your communication goals is my biggest joy and passion as an SLP. My hobbies include rock-climbing, cold swimming, dancing, making music, and cooking.
Kristi Hartman M.A., CF-SLPCertified Speech-Language PathologistAfter earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Utah State University in 2005, I worked in a day program for adults with disabilities as a residential staff member, job coach, and HR coordinator. I returned to school to earn a bachelor’s degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Sciences from the University of Colorado in 2021, followed by a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Northern Colorado in 2023. I completed an internship at MCR’s Outpatient Clinic and the UCHealth Cancer Center where I gained experience evaluating and treating adults for dysphagia, acquired apraxia of speech, voice disorders, aphasia, and cognitive impairments. I also completed an internship at a local elementary school where I gained experience evaluating and treating children with articulation, language, fluency, and social communication needs.
I am passionate about confidence in communication for clients of various ages, believe in a holistic approach to intervention, and love helping people reach their full potential. I am thrilled to be part of the rewarding career of speech-language pathology.
