At the Speech & Language Stimulation Center, we evaluate the speech patterns and grammatical structures that affect an individual’s accent. We then develop a program specific to the individual’s pronunciation of sounds, stress, rhythm, and any grammatical structures that need be addressed.

Our therapists utilize both high-tech and low-tech communication devices with non-verbal individuals of all ages in order to communicate basic wants and needs as well as socialize with friends and family.

We address speech, language, and social communication abilities including early play skills and joint attention. In older children and adults, we address skills such as pragmatics, interpreting nonliteral language, and participating in groups.

More InfoVocal Cord Dysfunction (VCD)
VCD is also known as paradoxical vocal fold movement. For an individual with VCD, the vocal folds adduct (come together) intermittently and interfere with breathing. Our therapists are trained in an evidence-based treatment program that was developed by our founder, Dr. Ann Pendley.

Voice disorders affect the quality, pitch, and/or loudness of the voice. Common causes for voice disorders include physiological changes such as vocal cord nodules or polyps. Vocal abuse/misuse can also lead to voice disorders.
